Martha Herrera-Lasso is a PhD Candidate in Performance Studies at UC Berkeley. She holds an MA in Theatre from the University of British Columbia and a BA in Playwriting from the National University in Mexico City (UNAM). She has worked as a playwright, a translator and a dramaturge across North America, and is interested in reimagining the region as an artist and a scholar. Her current research is concerned with the practical and theoretical implications of international theater collaborations between Mexico and Québec, read through the politics of linguistic, cultural and aesthetic translation.
