Deena Rymhs is Associate Professor in the Department of English at the University of British Columbia. Dr. Rymhs's research on Indigenous writing focuses on issues of mobility and spatial politics. She is author of From the Iron House: Imprisonment in First Nations Writing (2008), and she is currently completing a second book,Directing Traffic: Roads, Mobility, and Violence in Indigenous Literature and Visual Art. She joins the Canadian Studies Program for the 2016 Spring semester as a John A. Sproul Research Fellow.
