Dr. Atousa Pahlevan-Duprat was born in Tehran, Iran, and immigrated to Canada in 2002. She holds a master's degree in mathematics from the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D. in software engineering from the University of Victoria. Her expertise lies in search technologies and improving relevance and ranking on search engines. Currently, Atousa works as a systems engineer at Intel. Previously, she worked as a software engineer at Uber, where she was responsible for enhancing relevancy in the platform's internal search function. Prior to that she worked at IBM. Atousa is actively engaged with the high-tech communities in both Canada and the United States, aiming to foster cross-border collaborations between academic researchers
